The formation of Parsa Polymer Sharif from a research group in the Faculty of Engineering and Material Science of Sharif University made this company always put the research at the center of its priorities and improve its scientific character.
In 2017, following the relocation of the production plant, PPS set up an Innovation and Technology Center in the former plant location.
Development and growth of PPS products' diversity and quality
Providing research and laboratory services to industrial and academic applicants
Providing the necessary environment for creating new business units with cooperation of scientific and industrial elites
Innovative ideas, industrial needs, and academic studies should enter NOFA Center as input to manufacture an industrial product or initiate a new business. Then, after completing the basic research steps and upgrading the level of technology readiness through constructive interaction with research groups in the universities, the output is presented in the form of applicable achievements for the industry.
PPS is trying to develop this NOFA center into an influential accelerator in the field of advanced polymers.
Achieving the goals of an innovation and technology center in the polymer industry is certainly not possible without having the appropriate equipment. Therefore, NOFA Center set up the necessary equipment to produce and evaluate the properties of polymer compounds on a laboratory or semi-industrial scale to create a capacity to upgrade the level of technology (TRL).
Currently, NOFA center is equipped with three extruder lines with 20 to 200 kg/hour capacity. The presence of the required equipment for prototyping and performing a wide range of thermal, environmental, and mechanical tests in the laboratory of this center is strong support for concluding the chain of knowledge to industry.
Parsa Polymer Sharif, with two well-equipped laboratory centers - one located in the production plant and the other in the NOFA Center - offers a complete range of tests required for the polymer industry. The quality management system in these laboratories is designed and implemented according to the ISO / IEC 17025 standard, accredited by National Accreditation Center of Iran (NACI). A wide range of physical-mechanical property tests of polymers is included in the scope of the laboratory.
Accuracy, precision, and speed of measuring the properties of polymer compounds in these laboratories make it possible to achieve the highest level of customer trust in the quality of products by providing the necessary quality infrastructure for product development, engineering, and quality control processes.
